I can`t remember exactly how long I have had acne for, but I can guess bout 9 years. I also know that acne soaps, Oxy pads (and other Oxy-related products), and ProActive never worked for me. I`ve been on ProActive cream for a year now, and I`ve had to stop using it on some occasions due to burning of the skin. However, I found a Betadine solution, and figured I`d try a drop of it in a liquid hand soap dispenser to try it out. In a month, the red pussy zits on my chin and my face cleared up, and I now have a clean, peachy skin where they used to be.
I have tried washing my face twice a day with acne soap, wipe my face with an Oxy pad every night, and apply ProActive cream on the acne after. Every morning I washed my face, every night I did the same ritual with washing, Oxy pad, and ProActive cream. You would think such an attack to the acne would clear it, yet I was still squeezing them, and they wouldn`t stop growing.
I have even taken to a healthy lifestyle of a pretty much repetitive diet, Omlette in the morning with spinach, mushrooms, and a small handful of grated cheese; A sandwich with home-made humus, lettus, and tomatoes; and a huge plate of salad of lettus, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, brocolli, and green onions since May. I made this change ever since I have had my Gall Bladder surgery.
My acne on my chin got worse, and I have been practicing this routine as a 2009 new year`s resolution that I started January 1, 2009. It`s only been September, and ever since I`ve tried this Betadine and hand soap mixture since H1N1 has been going around, my acne has been vanishing. I plan to use this until the acne is gone, because it seems to be working like nothing else.
You can find Betadine solutions sold in some stores, and some contain 10% iodine:
Use an eyedropper and drop one drop into at least 500 mL of hand soap. Adding the Betadine solution to handsoap eliminates discoloration of the skin when applying betadine, and reduces dryness of the skin. Adding Betadine directly may cause flaking, rashes, burning, or a yellowish-orange discoloration of the skin. The liquid handsoap moisturises the skin. For those who do experience burning or rash of the skin when using this solution, stop use entirely.
Concentrated forms of Betadine solution is not recommended. It is 10 times more effective than rubbing alcohol, which is a toxin.
If you have tried every trick in the book, and nothing works, try this out for yourself!

like you, i have been using betadine to treat my pimples for a couple of weeks,, and as i can see, my pimples starts to become small and sometimes it dries out. But i've been using it directly on my face, and as i have read your article i'd known that it is harmful to the skin..
ReplyDeletei just want to ask if you really add betadine to a hand soap instead of facial cleansers (i think) to wash ur face,, isn't it harsh??
Do you really need to mix the betadine solution at any hand soap available?
ReplyDeleteHi there
ReplyDeleteI went to the pharmacist to get something for back acne and the pharmacist gave me betadine shampoo to put on my back? I only realised when I got home that its shampoo my mother used for my hair wash when I was little! Now I'm concerned if this is working for back acne as well?? Anyone please help
